Maureen Casey
Maureen
and her husband David have three children, two daughters and a son. Their son has Arthrogryposis Multiplex
Congenita—Distal Type 1. Maureen has
spent the last 10 years on two Early Intervention Interagency Coordinating Councils (ICC’s)—New York and Arizona. She has also
provided trainings to both families and professionals. When her son was born 13 years ago the internet
was a very different place, but it offered information and support for her
son’s rare condition. Most recently, Maureen served as a consultant to a parent leadership project to expand the reach of
its trainings using webinars and online venues to support families. Personally and professionally, she has seen
the power that the internet has to provide families of children with
disabilities access to instant information, support and community.
